03How our classrooms work

Mixed ages.

Children learn from each other

Three-year age spans let younger children aspire and older children consolidate by teaching — the heart of the Montessori classroom.

Long work cycles.

Time to go deep

Uninterrupted blocks let a child choose work, concentrate, and finish — building focus that lasts well beyond preschool.

A prepared environment.

Everything within reach

Low shelves, real tools, and beautiful materials invite independence. The room is designed to teach without a teacher hovering.

Guided by observation.

Lessons that meet the child

Teachers observe and introduce the next material when a child is ready — not when a calendar says so.
